Aomoji-kei MNL Review

3/22/2015 Micaela 1 Comments

Hello fellow kawaii enthusiasts! So for today, I will be doing a review on the things I bought from a little shop called AOMOJI-KEI MNL! It's a new shop, just started a few months ago, but man am I in-love with their items! As the name of the shop itself states, it focuses on Aomoji fashion or Aomoji-kei (style) so the items are pretty unique with the blending of kawaii-ness into it!
For this review, I will not only be reviewing the items, but the shop itself as well!

So without further ado, jan ja jaaan!

These are the items I got from the shop! aren't they lovely? I'm loving all these items and will be purchasing a lot more from them soon! So, will be starting off with the awesome socks!

I'm in love with the quality of the cloth, plus, I think when you wear these, it gives off the cool kawaii vibe in your fashion statement, it's not the usual obvious "kawaii" you get where you wear lacey ribbon socks, but something more formal, but still cute!
This pair is only 149.00 php!

I'm loooooving this face mask! It's super cute and funny at the same time, was taking of getting the cat faced or kaomoji one, but this is sooo much better, and its catchy too! this is also very well made because of the thickness of the cloth, but it's not suffocating at all!
This could be yours for only 219.00 php!

These pins are just the cutest! I actually find it cute when you stick pins in your ootd (outfit of the day) because it makes it more kawaii plus it stands out! If I'm not mistaken, they have A LOT of other designs which you can choose from and they're all so adorable I wanted to get everything!
And these babies are yours for 150.00 php (2 pieces, I think it used to be 3 which is why I got 3)

My personal favorite, these skull hand hair clips! man aren't they cute!? It's like goth kawaii with a hint of rock in it! hohoho! these are super adorable and they come in many different colors as well!
Clip these on for only 169.00 php (pair)

These totoro babies are here to stay because who doesn't want totoro? These are kawaii earrings and They're actually super big, but super light! they're not heavy at all, and I think it's made from clay? lol not sure but still 100 percent cutie! and the good thing is, these are FREE! when you buy their items you get these as kawaii freebies!

There's actually one more thing I originally ordered which was supposed to be my favorite! and that would be the super kawaii EGG TOAST BAG

I really wanted this bag and ordered it, but a few weeks before the orders would arrive, they contacted me telling me it's not available, and gave me options, they handled the matter very well and in a professional manner that I didn't feel sad about it at all, they returned the money I sent for the egg bag, and even made me choose 2 items from their on hand things for free as an apology for the inconvenience~

Overall, I'm really happy with the service and items I got from Aomoji-kei MNL! I would give it a 9/10 rating!
If you want to check their items, here's their FB page and Instagram Page!

That's it for this post! Hope you liked it and have a kawaii day everyone!

Inspiration Series: Candy Kawaii Lover (Ashley Dy)

3/15/2015 Micaela 1 Comments

Blogging is a sort of reliever for some people, some find it interesting, and some find it inspirational. I've been blogging since 2009, been to a lot of platforms, and now has finally settled down with this URL and just started blogging again, or should I say, a rebirth of my blog, so I will be starting from scratch... This blog was just opened late 2014, and I really didn't expect this amount of visits in just a short period of time, and I think one of the reasons why I was able to put up this blog is because of inspiration, inspirational people who encourage people to be as positive, creative, and inspirational as they are. For this 2015, I will be doing a series, series of Inspirational Bloggers whom I will be doing a short interview with, and feature in my blog, bet you think I will only be featuring well known bloggers huh? just to make things clear, even NEW bloggers can be inspirational, because it's their drive to become an encouragement to others which makes a blog positive and wonderful to read.
And for the debut of this series, I have interviewed one of my favorite bloggers of all time, Ashley Dy of Candy Kawaii Lover

I'm a proud reader (or rather Stalker) of her blog, she posts the most amazing pictures tied up with a heart warming post about how or what she's currently doing, even giving tips to her readers on different things. One thing I really love about her blog, is that it's Free, free to post whatever she likes and doesn't need to just stick to one theme.

Another thing I love about Ashley is that she is adventurous, that's how I see her through her blog posts, she's stylish, cute and adventurous!

That's why I've decided to shoot her an email and asked her a couple of questions, and again I want to thank her for replying! hihi! Hope to see you too soon ate ashley!

  1. Tell me something about yourself
I'm Ashley, I'm the founder of Candy Kawaii Lover and co-author of Our Kawaii Tokyo.
  2. How long have you been a blogger? what made you start blogging?
I've been blogging for almost 6 years now. I started blogging about my day when I was bored from work with a help of a co-intern, we took photos of my outfits.
  3. What were your dreams when you were young? are they still the same as your dreams now?
I dreamt of becoming a lawyer, doctor, pediatrician, dermatologist, flight attendant, model, etc. when I was 11. I have to say I still have many dreams just like before but of course it's already different now.
  4. Did you ever feel like you hit rock bottom? how did you handle it?
Everyone does at some point. I usually cry then get over it. I have asked advices from people who are more knowledgeable than I am but in the end, it's just me and my mind. I still have to learn more about handling my emotions but I'm also headstrong. Know that you can't get everything you want and it's okay. Happiness and loneliness are part of life, just find your balance and you'll be fine.
  5. Who/What are your inspirations?
I'm inspired by the cherry blossom trees. Just like them, we are all beautiful. Life is short so we have to do our best to find our happiness and purpose.
  6. How did Kawaii change you?
Kawaii change my life in a surprising way. More than the way I dress or the way I put my make-up on, kawaii altered the way I think about people. I don't judge easily rather, I try to understand them.

  7. Any tips for fellow/starting bloggers who aim to live the kawaii lifestyle?
Kawaii lifestyle is not just about material things like fashion, hair and make-up but it's an act of understanding and connecting each other's differences. You don't have to force it to be kawaii, everyone is kawaii in their own way.

  8. Inspirational Words When you think that nothing's going your way, it's because something better is coming. Don't just sit there and wait, do something that your future self will thank you for.

Just look at all these amazing photographs she took! One thing that makes me blog is looking at her blog and bam! I want to blog like she does.

Ashley is one of my inspirations in making this blog, and when it comes to chasing my dreams! She's someone I look up to and I hope this post made it the same for you!
Again thank you so much ate ashley for taking the time to do this~ And that's it for the first "episode"? (lol) of this Series! will be featuring a couple more bloggers soon so look out for it!

Kawaii PH with Tamashii Convention Team Meeting

3/15/2015 Micaela 0 Comments

March 14, 2015, the Kawaii PH team assigned to handle the Kawaii Fashion for this years Tamashii Convention had a meeting with Nihon Kenkyuukai, the people behind this exciting con! Basically, we talked about the fashion show mainly and the prizes we will be giving out to the winners of the Kawaii Street snap! Chai of Ohmylittlegirl will be our ninja photographer who will be roaming around to capture the guests who are coming in their Kawaii outfits! And the prizes will be coming from JapanLover.Me store straight from Japan! which will be a surprise for now, I think the Tamashii Con page will be posting the prizes soon!

We also talked about the program flow of the show/con, and the time we'd need to set up, practice, etc. Actually, instead of a meeting, this also seems like a chat moment, cause we mostly talked about random stuff! lol! we had our meeting at Bubble Tea in Trinoma, and as usual, I ordered my favorite, Omurice!

There were also other people who came because they had a meet up schedule to get tickets for the event! So while we were resting, we took pictures!

Me with my favorite Nona-chan! She just got her Sakura Staff that day as well! it was super well made and only for 300 php!! I'm planning on ordering one for myself, for random purposes cause I dont cosplay (yet) lol haha!

Of course I also had to take selfies with it!

ahhh! I really love the lighting in the restaurant! I look so smooth! -w- hihihi! Do you notice something different? that's right, I'm wearing contact lenses! the first pair I got for myself! it's gray, and Kaye and nona said I don't look like I have contacts on because my eyes are super small lol

Me with the super talented Chichi! (our mommy haha!) and Kaye borrowed my phone and took selfies with nona and their magical pendants! haha!

Sadly, I forgot to take a selfie with Dolly Kaye! ;A;

But we do have this picture!

We met up at 2 pm, and ended at 5:30! We had a really nice talk with the NKK peeps and we all had super fun!

Who's going to Tamacon??? Please do! We'll see you there!

Cardcaptor Sakura Nendoroid Review

3/08/2015 Micaela 0 Comments

Something I've always wanted has finally arrived a couple of days ago in the mail, and that would be, my Kinomoto Sakura Nendoroid! This is actually a one-month-advanced-birthday-gift-part-one gift by boyfie mike! thank you so much for this super kawaii present bae! I can now take a lot of pics with sakura-chan! but first!... let's go through the unboxing part!

The box is super cute and she has so many available parts with her! Which is super worth the money! and I love the staffs included!

peeking peeking from out the box *excited excited*

A manual and of course the clow sign or I forgot what you call it is also included haha!

and now..

Sakura sealed in plastic as well!

ahh, the staff! the smaller staff can have its beak removed and you can replace it with the one with the clow card~

Changeable arms as well! so many to choose from and so many to use!

and look at those kawaii faces!

I love how kero-chan is also super well made, and I love the wings which I will also be attaching soon haha! let's remove sakura's plastic cover so she can breathe!

Tada! there was also a plastic in between the hat and her hair and that's when I realized that her head was magnetic! well to the hat at least, or maybe it's the hat that's magnetic? either way I love how they made it that way because its easy to remove and put back, but also doesn't fall off easily.

Overall, I'm in love with this nendroid series! I hope I can get tomoyo-chan next so I can create a lot of photo shoot sessions with them!

That's it for this post, look forward to future posts with sakura-chan!
